Student Story – Ryo Nishimura
Made as a project for his 11th grade film making class, Ryo describes his life comically.
Ryo Nishimura, a 12th grade AP Student, Has been in the MAD Academy during the entirety of his SBHS career. When asked about his time at the mad academy, Ryo said:
Junior year and Senior year in the MAD Academy have been fantastic. Film production and photography are my new muses. I’ve used my skills in these classes to join the SBIFF 10-10-10 Program, where I’m doing screenwriting. MAD has provided me with the equipment and help to improve my portfolio. I hope to attend a four year after high school. Sh*ts Dope.

But Ryo’s creativity doesn’t stop when his MAD classes end. An, avid cartoonist in his free time and in the SBHS student paper, The Forge, Ryo is working to “get his bread” in the art world. Ryo digs the mellow in his personality, and this is reflected in his lo-fi drawings.
