Student Story – Ineka Damen
Made only a few weeks ago as a part of Ineka’s 12th grade Film making class, A conservative and liberal have a tense face off in a broken elevator.
Ineka Damen, a 12th grade Student, has been in the MAD Academy during the entirety of her time at SBHS. An avid photographer, political activist, and fashion model, Ineka has demonstrated the flexibility of the MAD curriculum. Often juggling various modeling jobs, an active social life, and a rigorous AP intensive course-load, Ineka said:
Since the integrated MAD curriculum allows me to get extremely close to my peers and teachers, there has been a lot of support and wiggle-room granted to me that I could have never gotten if I wasn’t part of the academy.

Another one of Ineka’s favorite parts about the MAD Academy is the community it fosters:
I feel that the MAD Senior class is extremely inclusive and supportive. I have always felt like I have a second family in MAD, and they make me want to be the best person I can possibly be.
– Ineka Damen
Through her entire MAD experience, Ineka has gained real industry knowledge from all of her teachers, knowing what it’s like to work both in front and behind the camera.
Ineka plans to study political science and use her already established social media following (@inekadamen) to pursue political campaigns and activism.
